‘eVolve Media’ is an internal AP offer, delivered by Esteem Valley Academy staff from our Kirk Hallam site. The project allows students the opportunity to gain BTEC qualifications in Media and ESports.
Our Media curriculum is exciting, broad, and balanced, exploring relevant media products and experiences. This means our curriculum objectives are for every student to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding through exploration of current media trends before becoming creatively confident in their design phase. Students learn through making media products of their own, covering a broad range of industry relevant technical skills including 3D graphic modelling for the game and film industry, film and photography, VR design, app development, video editing and special effects, all whilst using industry standard software such as Final Cut Pro, Unity & Photoshop.
Our Esports curriculum is designed to harness growing interest in competitive gaming to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Our intent is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Esports industry while developing essential skills that are transferable to a wide range of careers and life situations. The curriculum is delivered through a combination of theory-based lessons, practical workshops, and project-based learning, focusing on key themes such as Game Strategy, Esports Business, and Digital Content Creation.
